This bridge is the Palace Bridge which the revolutionaries used to cross the Neva River and overthrow the Czar. It was the only bridge they were able to capture and keep closed for crossing. St Isaac's Cathedral is in the background.
Today was and tomorrow will be St. Petersburg Russia. Since you need a visa to go ashore in Russia and they are provided by the tour operators we opted to only take the ship's tours. The First of two tours we took today was to the Hermitage museum leaving the ship at 8:30am. The second was the Imperial Russian Court Evening which left the ship at 6:30pm and didn't get back until almost midnight. It was the best ship shore excursion we have ever taken. It seems the walking is catching up with my feet. My left ankle has started to get sore and hurt. I hope it doesn't escalate!
