The parade of trains continued today along I40 east.
(6162 miles driven)
Not a good day. It started off good but went down hill from there. We left the hotel at 8:10am and 41 degrees to tour the north rim of Canyon De Chelly. After several more near death experiences with the canyon overlooks, we took NN64 east to NN12 north to US191 to US160 east stopping at the Four Corners Monument. After paying our $3 per person and taking our pictures we headed back down US160 south to US64 east to US84 east to Chama, NM. New Mexico decided it was good practice to place loose gravel on US84 and tanks to a pickup truck we got two chips in the windshield. When we got to Chama the steam engine had arrived and I was able to get some pictures. It was then on to the hotel with no vacancies to find out they didn't have our reservation. We produced the laptop and confirmation. Luckily they still had one room available which by the way was the same room we had reserved. The day ended at 4:44pm. Tomorrow is an all day train ride. Hope it is a better day!
