2008 Cross Country Car Trip - Saturday September 20th

Today we got underway at 7:21 am. We would be traveling some non-interstates, finally. We started out on I20 west until we got to exit 589 where we were going to take US259 to Henderson but it was closed. So we had to follow the detour which was up to the next exit and back to exit 589. At Henderson we took US79 all the way to I35 south at Austin. We followed a very crowded I35 south arriving in San Antonio at 3:30 pm. Since I didn't do my research the night before we passed right by a live steam engine at Russ TX.

Another day, another dinner. Only at this one Marlene would step on an ant hill and get bitten several times on her feet.
