This is the casino that almost paid for our room and meal last night.
(5696 miles driven) After updating the website last night we headed for dinner. Marlene had oysters and on the third of six she got a bad one. That was the end of dinner for her. After dinner we headed for the casino. Marlene got her players card, I had gotten mine before checking in to get the discount on the room. With the players card came five dollars to use in the slot machines. So we played slots. I hit a reasonable combination and won about $80. I turned to tell Marlene and discovered she had over $100 on her machine. We decided to play both machines down to $50 and leave the casino with $100 in total. When we got up I had $50 and Marlene had $80 for a total of $130. When we checked in the desk gave us a room in the new hotel for the price of the old. When I checked the account in the morning she actually gave it to us for less than that. Between the desk and the casino the stay last night cost us $29. Not too bad. We got on the road this morning at 8:30am and headed for Galesburg, IL to watch trains. It turned out to be a good "hot spot" and I met someone who worked for Amtrak that lived in Richmond as late as 2003. After about an hour in Galesburg, IL we headed for Marion, OH stopping at 6:50pm in Springfield, OH. Tomorrow it is on to Marion, OH for some train watching and then home. It will be a long day but we should be in our own bed tomorrow night.
