The road leading into and out of Mesa Verde National Park, CO.
(6883 miles driven) Today we went to Mesa Verde, CO to see the cliff dwellings. The road to the park was a close second to Mt. St. Helen's. However the trip was again worth it. We decided to take the hike down to Spruce Tree House. It was only a 1/4 mile hike but most of it was down with a free 1/4 mile hike back up to the car. After viewing several more dwellings it was off to the Indian jewelry trading post, and we know what happens there. After that we headed for Wolf Creek pass. This was the pass that had had chain restrictions for the past two days. We made it just fine even though there was quite a bit of snow on the ground, but none on the road. Tomorrow is the Royal Gorge and then on to Denver, CO.
