2006 Cross Country Car Trip - Wednesday September 13th

(3980 miles driven) Today was a full day and we didn't plan on it. We planned to go to Mt. Rainier and then back to the hotel. However we also took in Mt. St. Helens. After all that driving we met an old navy buddy Steve Beekley and his wife Bonnie for dinner. Tomorrow is the Mt. Hood railroad and then on to the Oregon coast.

We set out for Rainier and quickly ascended into the clouds. Since I was driving we pressed on at a very slow speed. Soon we ascended out of the clouds and made the turn to ascend Rainier. No fog this time but everything around us was in the clouds. I decided to take a picture showing the clouds and the mountain tops. Marlene called out and said "when you get finished taking that picture I have something I want you to take a picture of".
